Located in the elegant EUR district of Rome, not far from the Laurentina terminal station of Metro Line B – in 20’ you are in downtown Rome, the Colosseum, main railway station Termini. By taxi it may take longer, depending on traffic conditions.

During the Congress an official photographer / camera operator will take photos or video recordings. Any images will be property of WACEM 2024 for purposes related to the Congress. If you do not agree to your image being taken please inform the photographer.

Upon registration you will receive tickets for welcome reception, lunches and social dinner invitation, if you signed for it.
NAME BADGE
All attendees need to be registered at the Congress. Please pick up your name badge and wear it for all Congress activities.
CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
Statement of attendance will be mailed after the Congress at the email address informed upon registration at the Congress.

La presenza sarà rilevata tramite badge elettronico, è necessario far rilevare la presenza per ogni singola giornata all’inizio ed alla fine delle sessioni di lavoro.
SPEAKER READY ROOM – SLIDE CENTRE
A ‘speaker ready room’ will be located on the ground floor.
Presenters can use the room to check their presentations.
Speakers are kindly asked to deliver their presentation on USB flash drive, at least 2 hours in advance with reference to the beginning of their session. Your presentation will be checked by the technical staff and uploaded to the central system to be projected in one of the Meeting rooms. Personal laptops are not allowed for presentations. Please check complete speaker information in the website.
CURRENCY AND CREDIT CARDS
Like in the rest of the European Union, the official currency is the Euro (€). The most common credit cards are accepted in most of the businesses and hotels. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club cards are widely accepted at hotels, department stores, shops and restaurants. Better to ask taxis if they get credit card, not all of them accept this form of payment.
CLIMATE AND TEMPERATURES
Rome has a Mediterranean climate with cool winters and generally hot summers, which means that any time of the year is good for visiting the city.
Spring and autumn are the best seasons to visit Rome, since temperatures are mild, not too hot, not too cold.
Medium temperatures beginning November 11°C – 24° C / 51.8 °F – 75.2 °F.
It may proof useful to have a raincoat.
LOCAL PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
TOURIST CARD
You can easily get around Rome and visit our fantastic ‘open air museum’ by bus, by subway (“Metropolitana”), by taxi and on foot. If you plan to stay for 3 days or more, we suggest you buy “Roma Pass” tourist card.

TAXI
Taxis licensed by Rome City Council are white and bear the sign “TAXI” on their roofs. The symbol of Rome City Council is also clearly visible on the vehicle’s front doors and the license number is shown inside the car on the back left door.
ATTENTION: Any other vehicle waiting at the airport exit could be driven by unauthorized persons and fare could be higher.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION – BUS & SUBWAY
Rome has 3 subway lines (A- B – C) and several bus routes covering almost all parts of Rome and its suburbs. A single ticket costs euro 1,50 and it is valid 100 minutes after validation, but just for a single journey on subway.
The Conference venue is located in the E.U.R. district, which is not in the historical city centre. However, you can reach the Conference Centre by underground line B, connecting E.U.R. district to Rome downtown area (Termini railway Station, Colosseum and Circo Massimo areas) to EUR district. The nearest stations to the Conference venue is LAURENTINA.
Buses run from 5.30am to 23.30 with only the night buses after 23.30. The subway (Metro) lines run from 5.30am to 23.30 and, on Friday and Saturday nights, to 1.30am.
Due to important works, line A runs during the congress days from 5.30am to 21.00 and, on Friday and Saturday nights, to 1.30am.
Tickets can be bought at all railway and metro stations, as well as at the authorized sales points (newsagents, coffee bars, tobacconists and P.I.T. – Tourist information points).
